Leadership
Nancy Karason brings a passion for well-designed apparel, an unerring eye for the design and function combinations that will motivate and delight a specific clientele, and decades of experience in the apparel business to every consulting relationship. She excels in seeing and nurturing synergistic connections that promote both satisfaction and growth for everyone involved.
Karason is also the founder and principal of N•A•K Retail Management, a company that specializes in concepting, implementing, and managing specialty retail stores that enhance the brand and profitability of new commercial, retail, and hospitality developments. Her company currently manages the highly successful JV & Company store (“Women’s Clothing For Travel & Life”) in downtown Minneapolis. Services include merchandise selection and buying, inventory management, sales and marketing, personnel hiring and supervision, and operations management, all on a turnkey basis.
Karason has also been an independent sales representative for the French Rags Collection, working with designer Brenda French and factory managers to grow a profitable business over several years. Prior to that, she worked with retail legend Sonnie Dawson for more than a decade, learning all aspects of the specialty retailing business as both buyer for, and general manager of, Sonnie’s retail stores.
